SIMCom is awarded China’s first Ex ia ATEX wireless communication module authentication certificate issued by TÜV SÜD
ATmosphères EXplosibles, or the "equipment for explosive atmospheres-ATEX directive", is one of 32 technical and regulatory directives mandated by the Conformite Europeenne (CE) mark. When it comes to product and industrial safety, human health, and consumer and environmental protection, the relevant technical regulations (i.e. directives) are general, minimum and acceptable requirements for all EU member states.
On January 21, 2019, the NB-IoTSIM7020 series module (SIM7020C/SIM7020E/SIM7020G), produced by SIMCom, has obtained the ATEX 2014/34/EU authentication certificate, which is based on EN/IEC60079- 0 general standard, and EN/IEC 60079-11 intrinsically safe standard in explosive atmospheres among EN/IEC60079 series standards. The CE explosion-proof certification marks are shown below:
The meaning of the characters of the explosion-proof marks in this ATEX authentication certificate: Ex mark is ATEX certification; II is non-mining equipment; 1 is the highest protection level Category 1 explosion-proof equipment in ATEX directive. This equipment is suitable for Class IIA, IIB and IIC gases, as defined in EN/IEC60079-10-1. The explosion-proof areas of explosive gas mixtures are in Zone 0, Zone 1 and Zone 2. The product explosion-proof type is II 1G Ex ia IIC Ga, and the ambient temperature of the product is -40 ° C ~ +85 ° C.
Obtaining the above certificate and CE mark indicates that the SIM7020 series has met the technical requirements of the European Union for applying equipment in potentially explosive environments, including basic health and safety requirements, and conformity assessment procedures that must be followed before the equipment is launched in the European market within its scope of use.
The SIM7020 series is a multi-band NB-IoT wireless communication module, packaged with a 42 PIN LCC.
